McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen wanted to throw a party
that celebrated their alumni and the tradition that goes with
being one of the oldest law firms in California - without being
stuffy.
I created the woodblock style art for a traditional feel, but
wrapped the design around the back of the card for a contemporary
twist.
The card was printed on thick, velvety card stock using off set
printing for the garnet and green inks to get full rich color.
The black ink was laid down with a separate process called letterpress
that sank the black areas and text to give an engraved texture
that was sensual and conveyed the elegance of the event.
