In 1999, McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen's site was listed
110th out of the top 250 law firms in the nation by Redstreet,
an independent consulting firm. My new design, launched in 2000,
was ranked 5th out of the top 250, 105 positions up.
The challenge was developing a site architecture and design that
could adapt to a firm of more than 300 attorneys and their diverse
marketing demands. When the site launched it had over 1400 pages.
McCutchen merged with Bingham Dana in 2002. When the site came
down it had over 2300 pages. All this content was added without
needing to change the interface or information architecture at
all.
